Ireland's Mark Moriarty is the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015

Mark Moriarty, from UK-Ireland area, has just been awarded as the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015. Find out the full list of winners.

Mark Moriarty, who represented UK-Ireland area, has just been picked as the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 in front of packed crowds in Milan, Italy. The Irish chef beat off competition from 19 young chefs with his dish of celeriac baked in barley, a vegetarian plate that played on the flavors of Guinness. Speaking after the award, the young chef said he hoped the recognition would help shine the culinary spotlight on his home country of Ireland and show the world it's not just the place of potato. 

The Best Chef/Designer Couple award and the Best Couple Web award both went to the Latin American duo of chef Maria José Jordan and fashion designer Paula Cademartori, the smiling winners were evidently shocked at winning both selectiond while a humble Jordan claimed all the votes must have been from friends and family.

The Best Designer award went to Xiao Li from China for her simple designs inspired by the tomato dish of Zhu Wenyuan. She was humble in accepting the award and said that she has learned a lot about the strong link between food and fashion, something she was not aware about before the competition.
